Manchester United won the EFL Cup 2017

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the Manchester United' Wembley hero as he scores a brace in EFL Cup triumph over plucky Saints

Manchester United won the EFL Cup 2017 after a 3-2 victory over Southampton.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic's late winner secured the Football League Cup and gave Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho his first success since his summer appointment, as brave Southampton were beaten at Wembley.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a sumptuous free-kick from 25 yards to give United the lead before Jesse Lingard doubled it.
But Manolo Gabbiadini got one back before the break before scoring another just three minutes after
Saints' Italian striker had earlier had a goal seemingly wrongly ruled out for offside by the referee.
Ibrahimovic proved to be the hero for Jose Mourinho man by heading home the winner in the 87th minute to secure the EFL cup for the Red Devils.

It was an entertaining final
Massive Credit to Southampton, to come from 2 goals down and almost did what most thought was impossible against Manchester United, setting the match tempo until the end.
Southampton were the better side for most of this final but were left heartbroken by a controversial offside decision - and the inspiration provided by the 35-year-old Ibrahimovic, the Swede is just incredible & just loves to be the show man.

"I'm really, really happy," she said after the match. "It's an unbelievable feeling and an incredible moment for my career that I could play against Lucie. She's an amazing player and it was a big fight and it's unbelievable that I could come out with a win in front of my home crowd. It was amazing this week, thanks to the encouragement without the Hungarian public it would have been much more difficult, said Tímea Babos.

Both women were playing their first finals of the season.
It was a great quality, hard hitting contest, Timea Babos was fighting for every ball like her life depended on it, which explains her tears after winning the match. it was so close till the end, the only difference was defense - Babos defended well but Lucie Safarova not had an inspired defense in the Budapest Final.

Claudio Ranieri has been sacked as Leicester City manager

The Foxes are currently just a single point outside of the Premier League relegation places, having won the title last season,Ranieri, oversaw the greatest shock in top football history when he led the club to the title, but things have unravelled this year with the club struggling for Premier league form.

The brutal decision to dismiss the man who lead them to arguably the greatest triumph in English football history was made after Wednesday's 2-1 Champions League defeat in Seville.
The club confirmed his departure on Thursday night, calling the decision 'painful' but 'necessary'

The 65-year-old's appointment was met with criticism when he was appointed  Leicester City manager in July 2015 but he sensationally inspired a team which had narrowly escaped relegation to their first-ever Premier League title.
His remarkable achievement with a squad worth just $53million.

But the Italian was unable to replicate his success this season.
While Leicester initially shone in the Champions League - winning their group - they desperately struggled in the Premier League.
The Foxes are yet to score a goal in the Premier League in 2017 and have picked up just one point from a possible 18.

He was given a vote of confidence last week by Leicester chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha but insisted he was relaxed about his position at the club.

Claudio Ranieri was named the 2016 Premier League Manager of the Season, and LMA Manager of the Year. He was also awarded the Grand Officer of the Italian Order of Merit and the Enzo Bearzot Award as best Italian manager of the year, as well as the 2016 Best FIFA Men's Coach Award.

For the first time, a Super Bowl needed overtime, and for the fifth time, the New England Patriots are Super Bowl Champions!

In the first Super Bowl to ever go to overtime,
Atlanta Falcons had a 28-3 lead midway through the third quarter. But a costly Atlanta fumble by quarterback Matt Ryan midway through the fourth quarter helped set up the New England Patriots to come all the way back to tie it at 28.
In overtime, Patriots running back James White rushed in from two yards for the game-winning touchdown of the Super Bowl LI.

The New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady threw for a Super Bowl record 466 yards and two touchdowns and became the first quarterback to win five Super Bowl titles. He was named Super Bowl MVP for the fourth time, the most all time.

"It was a hell of a football game," Brady said after the game.
Congratulations to Tom Brady to coach Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots for winning the NFL Super Bowl 2017.
